Koushik Bhattacharya began his career at Axelson, Williamowsky,
Bender & Fishman, P.C. as a Law Clerk after completing his first year of
law school. Mr. Bhattacharya immediately demonstrated excellent research and
writing skills and was given complex litigation projects in all practice areas.
In 2003, Mr. Bhattacharya received his Bachelor of Arts degree
in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where
he was a member of the UMBC Judicial Board. During his junior year, Mr. Bhattacharya
was accepted to the Legal Internship program where he worked for a firm in
Baltimore, Maryland and first learned about litigation. Mr. Bhattacharya then
attended the University of Baltimore, School of Law and received his Juris
Doctor degree in 2006. During his third year of law school, Mr. Bhattacharya
was a Student Attorney with the University of Baltimore, School of Law Tax
Clinic and argued a case in United States Tax Court.
Mr. Bhattacharya is also involved in the community in the metropolitan
area. He has volunteered at the Kali Temple in Burtonsville, Maryland and been
a part of Sanskriti, an association of Bengali immigrants and second generation
Bengali Americans living in the area. Mr. Bhattacharya is also a member of
the South Asian Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, Montgomery
County Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Section of the Maryland Bar.
In 2006, Mr. Bhattacharya joined the firm as an Associate and is
admitted to practice in all Maryland state courts.
